Pipe Tobacco Smoking

Nowadays, cigarettes are getting all the attention. Cigarettes are the most popular product of the tobacco industry though they are ubiquitous and controversial. A pack of cigarettes represent the modern face of tobacco in the eyes of many people but pipe tobacco holds a different view by people. Pipes are understandable and somewhat dignified instead of being devilish as youth destroyer and the curse of spectators at outdoor events. People don’t seem to get mad of pipes as they seem to remind them of their grandfather and seem so pondering to some extent. Pipes are ponderous while cigarettes are fast and pose dangers. Pipes emit a pleasing smell and an image of coolness. Pipe smokers are not compulsory smokers at some doorway but they usually sit on a park bench and enjoy the sunshine with their cool smoking.

Tobacco companies are being targeted as demons and taxes on tobacco continue to rise everywhere. Every country from Canada to Spain is imposing strict laws and taxes on tobacco industry. But pipe smokers continue quietly without any trouble. Even as the industry makes big changes, pipe smoking will continue to remain quiet.

Pipe tobacco is quite different from cigarette tobacco because it can be cured. Based on taste and aroma, consumers purchase various kinds of pipe tobacco. Much effort is required to create attractive blends for pipe tobacco. Generally, the quality of tobacco in pipe tobacco is superior as compared to tobacco used in cigarette production. In US, there is a tradition to blend American Burley tobacco with various spices and sweeteners. English tobacco blends normally use natural Virginia tobacco mixed with natural oriental or other exotics. These strains of tobacco can be found all over the world from the Middle East to the Balkans, to South America, Africa, and even very particular regions of the United States. Current consumer culture seems to be in favor of the English style tobacco blends emphasizing on natural origin.

Another aspect which differentiates pipe tobacco with cigarette tobacco is the constitution of pipe tobacco. The nature of tobacco smoking with a pipe requires the tobacco to be coarsely cut to facilitate proper airflow. Tobacco used in pipes has more moisture than the tobacco used for other purposes. This means that the tobacco does not create too much heat by quick burning and ensures a pleasant smoke. Since pipe smokers are aficionados, each of them has their own choice on how they like their tobacco.

The careful art which is required for pipe smoking is one of the most important and influential factors which perceives pipe smokers as friendly gentlemen and cigarette smokers as reckless devils. Since there is meditative ritual involved in smoking and packing pipe tobacco, pipe smoking activity demands cool and calmness. This makes pipe smokers quite different from the average compulsive smoker. For many reasons pipe smoking will continue to be pleasant and beneficial in the opinion of most of the people as compared to cigarette smokers who are demoted to astray.
